Subdivision InformationKnown as the Water Recreation Capital of Texas, Canyon Lake Texas has all the amenities that anyone could want or need. There are numerous public parks, boat ramps, hiking trails and open shoreline for your use! Canyon Lake is a series of sub-divisions built around Canyon Lake. Each subdivision offers distinct qualities, ranging from amenities to architectural styles of the houses. On of the largest subdivision in Canyon Lake, Canyon Lake Hills, is also one of the oldest. Developed in the late 1960's, this subdivision has approximately 2500 lots with waterfront on 3 sides. Known as "The Hills", this area has everything from weekend homes to waterfront estates. It is has a very active civic club and homeowners association pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, parks, boat ramps and a full service hotel. Texans have been coming here in the Winter for many years and purchasing affordable, well-built, and attractive second homes. Local builders have also discovered that Canyon Lake Hills is a great place to build new "starter homes", and we are seeing more of those every year. There are also many big, beautiful, and pricey waterfront homes. Canyon Lake Village
Canyon Lake Village is of the original subdivisions at the lake. The Village was developed in the 1960s and oversees the southeastern shoreline. The setting high on the cliffs offers breathtaking views of the water. If you want the feeling of being on top of the water, this is the subdivision for you! Village is set high on the cliffs overlooking the southeast shoreline, very near the dam. The cliffs shoot nearly straight up from the water, and this results in spectacular views and the feeling of being right on top of the water. With winding, steep roads, homes built on the side of a cliff and many different architectural styles, you will forget you are really in Central Texas. There is also a clubhouse, pool, and active civic club who keep the community looking great! Cascada at Canyon Lake
Clearwater EstatesLocated on the northeastern side of Canyon Lake off of FM 306, Clearwater Estates was developed in the late 1980s with a topography of rolling hills. Most lots offer attractive hill views and are wooded with the trees that are common in North Texas. Average homes here are 1,500-2,500 square feet with mostly masonry exteriors and offer garages. Cordova Bend in Canyon Lake
The newest community in Canyon Lake is Cordova Bend. This gated community has some beautiful features, whether it is the green pastures, oak trees, elevated views or easy water access. Homes are required to be 85% exterior masonry and have a 2 car garage. Each lot ranges from 1.5 acres to 36 acres and horses are permitted. More amenities include a beautiful lakeside park with lake access, and bike and jogging trails. Eagles Peak RanchEagles Peak Ranch sits high up on the Devils Backbone Ridge. This sub-division offers views of Canyon Lake to the southwest and the beauty of the Texas Hill Country to the northwest. The landscaping and views are reminiscent of New Mexico and Arizona, not Central Texas. The Enclave at Canyon LakeThe Enclave at Canyon Lake is the newest development on Canyon Lake. Lot sales began in April of 2006. Featuring its own airport for its property owners, this development offers numerous unique features. Sitting on 184 acres, there are waterfront lots, waterview lots, runway lots, and hill view lots. Featuring naturally terraced terrain, the development offers a waterfront park with easy access to the lake, a pool, clubhouse, hiking and bike trails Ensenada Shores
An exclusive gated community, Ensenada Shores lies between Canyon Lake Hills and The Woodlands, This newer community has first class amenities. A waterfront pavilion with a beautiful stone exterior and tiled roof, a matching community pool, hiking and biking trails and a fishing pond are just a few of the things you will have at your leisure. While some lots are waterfront or offer waterveiws, a majority of this subdivision sits away from the main body of the lake. Kings CoveAdjacent to the Cranes Mill Marina, this gated community was developed in 1995 and has beautiful oak trees, rolling fields, and wonderful views. Kings Cove has lots ranging in size from acre to 3 acres, all homes are "unblocked", which means that no home view is blocked by another structure. Available to all residents of Kings Cove is a beautiful waterfront park area that consists of approximately 10 acres, with plush green grass and mature oak trees. Since the shoreline of Canyon Lake is owned by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, residents of Kings Cove have use of the entire shoreline for hiking, fishing and other activities. Kings Point
Kings Point is an exclusive, gate community located on the northern shore of Canyon Lake. With only 50 homes, this community has cobblestone streets, a very quiet and serene atmosphere with a great shoreline and wonderful views. Mountain Springs RanchFor the buyer looking for the beauty, sernenity and laid back approach of the hill country but doesn't want to stray too far from pace of the city, Mountain Springs Ranch answers the call. Only 20 minutes from San Antonio, this development offers the wide open spaces and views you want in a more relaxed environment but can still get you to the shopping, entertainment and dining you want in the city. There is an 85 acre nature preserve that runs through the middle of the development. This preserve has natural wildlife, walking, hiking and biking trails. The gated and non gated community also has 3 pools, a fishing pond and a creek. Mystic Shores in Canyon Lake
Mystic Shores is a 7,400 acre upscale development on the northwest side of Canyon Lake. If you are looking for a view, Mystic Shores offers views of the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake and the Texas hill country. The Peninsula is an exclusive gated community within Mystic Shores. Rio Central is a unique river front community within Mystic Shores. Features of the Mystic Shores sub-division include a 20 acre lakefront park, a nature preserve, pool, tennis courts, basketball courts and sand volleyball. Oak Shores Estates
Oak Shores is a 100 acre gated community on the southern shore of Canyon Lake. Many people feel that this small, exclusive community is the most prestigious on the lake.. Nearly every lot has a beautiful water view. The waterfront is unlike any other on Canyon Lake in that it has a wide, flat shoreline on deep water, and has a sloping incline up to a flat home site. This affords waterfront residents a spectacular water and hill view, but also a gentle walk down to a beach-like shoreline which is perfect for launching water toys, fishing and hiking. The remainder of the development is set into a hillside that has a gradual increase of almost 200 ft. in elevation to the back of the subdivision. Because of this terrain, nearly every lot has a gorgeous, unblockable, view. The developer staggered setback lines by lot and has height requirements that vary by lot to make sure the views are beautiful. River Crossing
River Crossing is a master planned golf community. Located just 15 minutes north of San Antonio and 40 minutes south of Austin. The panoramic views and excellent golf course conditions, along with the relaxing atmosphere of a rural setting, this Club gives you the quiet, get-away atmosphere that makes the River Crossing Club a true retreat from the outside world.
Village West in Canyon Lake
Located on the southeastern shoreline next to Canyon Lake Village, Village West consists of almost 900 lots. Many locals call this area the upscale version of Canyon Lake. Village West is known for it's fabulous water views, unique architecture, and Turkey Cove. Originally developed in the late 60s, many homes in this area were built in the late 1980s to present. With a very high elevation, many consider this area to have the best water views of anywhere on the lake. While not the easiest walk to the water in some instances, you will marvel at the terraced backyards and natural setting. Waggener Ranch in Canyon Lake
Waggener Ranch is a highly restricted 830 acre fenced and gated exotics ranch. Featuring soft topography, which allows for more usable acreage, this area has a very natural feel to it and will appreciate the openness., leaving open fields with natural grasses studded with large, mature oak trees. The wildlife at the ranch is abundant and includes Axis and Fallow Deer, Aoudad Sheep and Blackbuck. Horses are permitted. The old west Hill Country way of life continues at the Waggener Ranch. The Woodlands in Canyon LakeSitting halfway between the East and West ends of the lake sits The Woodlands. This 350 acre subdivision offers a good mix of the surrounding area. Hill views and water views are common and are breathtaking due to the high elevation of this area. Home to the Canyon Lake Golf and Country Club, this area offers a beautiful waterfront park which has public boat ramps, camping, hiking trails and is great for waterskiing. The Canyon Lake Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole golf course, full service restaurant and club, and a pro shop. Nearly all the homes in this subdivision are custom homes and are at least 80% masonry. Many homes have professionally landscaped exteriors and site on at least one half acre. |
